Who would have thought in this cold north country I would be posting a harvest for this past week. Was out cleaning up the garden yesterday and had left a couple of cabbages that didn't look too healthy. Well low and behold one was doing just fine so picked another cabbage that weighed in at 2 lbs 1 oz.
Don't forget to visit our host
and see what others harvested this past week.
What a lovely surprise!
ReplyDeleteI agree that is a lovely surprise, a good size cabbage. Guess you must be enjoying unusually warm November also.
ReplyDeleteand what a fine looking cabbage it is too! Just scrolled down and read some of your other posts; I think I'm going to have to break down and get my oven fixed so I can do some baking. Love how you have priced things out!
ReplyDeleteGrafix and Norma yes it was a nice surprise and this weather is absolutely crazy. It was 58 here today.
ReplyDeleteMary glad you like some of my previous posts. Come back soon and see what I am up to next. Have spent all day in the kitchen today. The freezers can't hold much more.
What a lovely surprise, I haven't been able to grow a decent head of cabbage yet, still trying.
ReplyDeleteVery nice to have any harvest in November. A two pound cabbage is even nicer. The night critters got all my cabbage this spring. I'm trying again with a fall crop. I've gotta be better about setting those live traps.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see that cabbage in my garden this week. Speaking of crazy weather, it's 65 here at 10:30 in the evening in PA.
ReplyDeleteI love it when the garden gives up a few unexpected treasures! That is a good looking head of cabbage too. :D
ReplyDeleteMac I have very good luck with all brassica except brussels sprouts which I love and every year I say I am not going to grow them but every year I try again.
ReplyDeleteLou I would love to be able to have a fall crop. I guess I could have this year but usually by now we have snow on the ground.
Jody, I never expected this cabbage to do anything but it is still 54 here today.
Kitsap thanks
Nice cabbage!!!! I have left a few growing, too-I hope to have enough to make slaw for T'gvg next week. =)
