Harvest Monday 10/31/11

I didn't harvest much this past week.  Got the community plots cleaned up and there were quite a few little green peppers and since I didn't need anymore in the freezer, I put them in the dehydrator.

Had my first harvest of basil on the aero garden so made a batch of compound basil garlic butter.

Wanted something to brighten up my meatloaf dinner the other night so went out in the snow and picked a little parsley from my small places to chop and sprinkle over the plate and ended up with a little more that I needed so it is now dried.

Still have carrots in the ground that I hope to get to today and an still hoping the brussel sprouts will get bigger but not sure there is any hope on that.

Don't forget to visit our host of Harvest Monday at Daphne's Dandelion to see what everyone is harvesting.

  1. Carrots in the ground and brussel sprouts! Yum. Basil garlic butter sounds good, too!

  3. Holley the carrots are now out of the ground and what a crop.

Barbie I love anything basil and garlic so this is a perfect combination for me and so easy to make.

Jean you are too kind. I do love to cook however there is no doubt about that but without my garden I wouldn't be able to afford to cook all the things I do. Not having to buy many vegetables is a real help.

  4. You seem to be harvesting quite a bit for someone that did not have "much" to harvest! LOL!

Looking forward to hearing how the carrot harvest shaped up.

  5. kitsap, only have the brussel sprouts to wait on now but not holding out much hope at this point. Will hold the success of the carrots for Monday Harvest.

Now to figure out what to do with the basil from the aero garden. Can't seem to keep up with it. I love that thing it keeps me gardening all winter.
